“In April 2022 we introduced eligibility criteria to help inform carers and service providers about decisions to best provide support to reduce the impact of caring. We want carers to be able to access the most appropriate support to meet their needs, first time, and for the amount of time that they require it and the eligibility criteria will help us do that. As part of introducing the eligibility criteria, we agreed with Carers of West Dunbartonshire that Carers of West Dunbartonshire would become the “front door” to all support for carers in West Dunbartonshire. Carers of West Dunbartonshire can provide carers with a host of options for support, can provide advice and information and can help carers complete an Adult Carer Assessment and Support plan to be able to better understand a carers circumstances and decide how best to support them.
