Please see details of webinar that will take place at 2pm on 11 March 2021  ‘Carers: Recognition and Rights - Your contribution matters’.

Whilst this is being organised by NMAHP (Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions) directorate at NES, the content will be relevant to staff across health and social care.

In your role it is highly likely that you meet carers. By carers we mean people who provide unpaid care to another person – they are the family, friends, partners and neighbours of the people you provide services to.

We all have a role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of carers and supporting them to have a life alongside caring. This webinar is relevant to staff working across health and social care – in dementia, mental health, autism, pharmacy, dentistry… The list is endless because it is relevant to us all.

This webinar will enable you to:

  • Briefly describe carers rights under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016
  • Engage carers in conversations about their own health and wellbeing
  • Signpost and support carers to access locally available services

Our presenters include:

  • Claire Cairns: Network Coordinator, Coalition of Carers in Scotland
  • Shubhanna Hussain-Ahmed: Partnership Development Officer, Coalition of Carers in Scotland
  • Morag Ferguson: Senior Educator, NHS Education for Scotland

Date and Time Thursday 11th March 2021, 2pm-3.15pm
