Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme

The Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme is a Scottish Government supported national scheme, which will be implemented locally by West Dunbartonshire HSCP. The scheme aims to:

• Provide mothers with positive experiences of breastfeeding when out and about, enabling mothers to feel confident and supported.
• Raise awareness of the Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Equality Act 2010.
• Ensure that organisations are aware of their responsibilities under this legislation.

The Scottish Government want to encourage more women to breastfeed their baby and to create an environment that will support women to continue breastfeeding throughout West Dunbartonshire. To do this we deliver training to businesses/organisations to become breastfeeding friendly.  When you see the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland award sticker you can rest assured that the business/organisation have gone the extra mile to protect and support breastfeeding.
