As a result of the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2015, the HSCP also has additional specific equalities duties.

  • These are to develop and report on a set of Equality Outcomes

Reporting on the current Equality Outcomes which are

To increase the proportion of adult social care clients being referred for benefits maximisation ( Age and Sex)

 

To increase the number of people accessing independent advice about the four social care self-directed 

 support options  (Protected characteristics being scoped)

Has been incorporated into the Quarterly and Annual Performance Reports

  • To report on how the HSCP is mainstreaming equality into its day-to-day business

This has been incorporated into the IJB annual performance report with the commitment to report annually on equality mainstreaming activity covering practice, learning and development and policies. This mainstreaming approach will continue to be developed - Annual Performance Report 2023/24. 

  • To carry out equality impact assessments  on health and social care policies and practices which have been delegated to the HSCP.
