- WDC Housing - No Homes for Domestic Abuse: provides a range of measures to provide practical help and specialist legal assistance and support following any incident of domestic abuse. In addition, the Local Authority will use the full scope of Anti-Social Behaviour powers in conjunction with Housing and Matrimonial Homes Legislation to support victims to remain at home, whilst the perpetrator can be legally removed, and prevented from returning.
- Assist: They accept referrals for people whose partner, or ex-partner, has been charged with a domestic abuse offence by the Police and a case is progressing through court. Their service is for everyone, regardless of their gender, age, ethnicity, sexuality, religious beliefs, disability or immigration status, and you can choose to speak with a female or a male Advocacy Worker. - Victim Support Scotland: They have support workers and volunteers that can provide support over the phone, in person and in the courts. They can provide you with practical advice and information to make the criminal justice system and process easier for you. You can access their services regardless of whether you have reported the crime or not to the police. You can get more information by phoning 0800 1601985.
West Dunbartonshire also have Independent domestic abuse advocate specialist (IDAAs), if you report domestic abuse to an agency your worker should discuss with you about carrying out a DASHRic (domestic abuse stalking and harassment risk indicator checklist). This assessment is to support you to identify how agencies can support you to keep you safe.
