The paediatric occupational therapist assess the needs of children and young people to support them to live their lives as independently and easily as possible.  

Working with the individual, their family to identify child's strengths and explore how they can overcome their challenges to achieve their full potential. 
 
The child's physical, psychological, social, and emotional challenges are assessed to support to participate in self-care, play and education.  
 
The paediatric occupational therapist enables the child to gain and maintain life skills through the use of meaningful graded activities, and empower their carers and all workers to find alternative/adaptive ways of maximising the child’s involvement in daily life.
