Nursing Care Home (Independent/Private)

Nursing homes are owned and managed by private or voluntary organisations and are registered to provide nursing care and personal care.  They have at least one qualified nurse on duty twenty-four hours a day to carry out nursing tasks.

As with residential homes, some are registered for a specific care need, for example dementia.

Care homes which are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide nursing care have trained nurses and can also provide additional equipment when assessed as required.
