Child Protection Committees (CPC) are the key local bodies for developing, implementing and improving child protection strategy across and between agencies, bodies and the local community.
A CPC is expected to perform a number of crucial functions in order to jointly identify and manage risk to children and young people, monitor and improve performance and promote the ethos that "It's everyone's job to make sure I'm alright".
West Dunbartonshire Child Protection Committee is made up of senior officers from a range of different agencies, services and organisations. These include:
- Health and Social Care Partnership
- West Dunbartonshire Council
- Education
- Scottish Children's Reporters Administration
- Police Scotland
- Third Sector
- NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
The CPC ensures that agencies, services and organisations work together to protect children and provide support to parents, carers, children and young people.
Our collective vision statement, with its associated values and aims has been agreed by all of the services, agencies and organisations represented on the CPC, and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that children and young people are respected, listened to and protected from harm.
