In certain circumstances the team are able to provide financial support to a young person between 16 and 18 years of age. This is because young people in this age group are not eligible for state benefits under The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. This support can be extended if the Young Person remains in higher education.
The team will assist young people over 18 to access appropriate benefits by direct contact with the department of work and pensions (DWP).
